Hebrews 11 Perfectly Imperfect Heroes of the Faith

What is “Faith”? What is “the Faith”?  What does “faithfulness” look like?

The aim of this series is to establish what faith is, where our faith is grounded, how we are to be faithful, as we learn from the examples of real people in what is called “The Hall of Faith” (Hebrews 11). With its litany of names, CBC will investigate our “forerunners in the faith" who called on God and set their hope on Him.  We will see His shepherding, His care, of these “perfectly imperfect” servants as they journied through life.

We want to learn from these men and women of faith.  What happened in their lives?  Why are they in God’s story as examples to us to LEARN from? How did God make Himself known?  How did they respond (both good & bad) to life in a way that demonstrated faithfulness? And, what can we learn so as to apply it today?

God, in His perfect plan, up-ends man’s expectations of WHAT God should be like, WHO He should save, and HOW this salvation is gained (1 Corinthians 1:18ff). God’s ways are far, far different—better, more holy…all those words certainly—God’s ways are not our ways.
